The process counts

Each painting begins as a quiet thought, then slowly grows with every brushstroke and every dot. What may start as a single mark on canvas becomes a story, a memory, or a reflection of spirit.

With patience, the layers build, colours deepen, and the image begins to breathe on its own. The rhythm of brush to canvas feels almost like a heartbeat, alive, steady, and full of meaning.
As an Anishinaabe (Ojibwe) artist, I create work that bridges tradition with contemporary expression. My art celebrates Indigenous culture, storytelling, and resilience, expressed through bold colours, intricate patterns, and symbolic imagery. Each piece carries its own energy, connecting past to present and spirit to earth.

When you step back, the painting reveals more than paint, it reveals spirit, emotion, and the resilience of culture.

I invite you to explore my website, AngelaWigginsArt.com, and immerse yourself in this journey. Discover contemporary Indigenous art from Canada, experience the colours and stories that rise from each canvas, and let each piece draw you into its spirit.
